What to Expect From Shameless Season 10

Here at Dork Daily, we have written extensively about Showtime’s Shameless. With Fiona’s emotional farewell at the conclusion of season nine, the tenth season is sure to be extremely different. So what should we expect?

Well, judging from the trailer, it’s possible that Emmy Rossum will provide just a little bit of voice acting every once in awhile as Fiona. This would be awesome, though it is impossible to bank on its occurrence. It could just be the show toying with fans.

Besides that, it looks like Lip will struggle with the rigors of parenthood, and Kev and V will give him the not-so-friendly jolt that he needs. Debbie may be subjected to some harassment but, knowing the show, it’s much more likely that the harasser will be harmed than Debbie.

Carl and Kelly could have a baby scare. In this reviewer’s opinion, it is unlikely that another baby is introduced so soon after Lip’s, but it is a possibility.

The men in the household will expect Debbie to take up Fiona’s old habits and parenting styles, but Debbie doesn’t appear to be going for it. Good for her: changes are needed and the kids (minus Liam) are all grown up. They don’t need caretakers anymore. That is why Fiona felt at all comfortable leaving.

Finally, Ian will be back after taking much of last season off. His relationship with Mickey looks like it’ll hit a rough patch or two. It’s hard to see the writers again separating the two for a long period of time after the backlash they received from fans for years on end the last time they did such a thing.

Frank will be Frank. He will try to get his inheritance money from Debbie, even though the chances of Fiona actually meaning to leave money for Frank are slim. He will probably say some terrible things, do horrible things, and care only for himself. Frank is a static character; he truly doesn’t change. Expect more of the same from the drunk.

Will Shameless be as good without Fiona? This reviewer finds it hard to believe. However, one can only tune in to find out. And, who knows, this could end up being the final season of the long-running show. It’s hard to imagine that it will go on much longer without one of its two main stars.

Shameless premieres on Showtime on Sunday, November 10th @ 9PM.
