Pokémon Gen 10 new starters revealed!

Earlier today Nintendo, Game Freak and the Pokémon Company streamed a new “Pokemon Presents” to coincide with the series’ 30-year anniversary (Pokémon Red and Green debuted in Japan today in 1996). There were many new announcements, but the most exciting by far was that the widely rumored (and leaked) Gen 10 of Pokémon finally made an appearance in the last 3 minutes of the stream: Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves!

The third game to be on a home console after the series made the jump from handheld, Pokémon Winds and Waves is also the first game being exclusively created for the Nintendo Switch 2. This is obvious from the beautifully rendered island and water settings. Though this enormous region is unnamed yet, it does seem to hold bear some resemblance to Gen 3’s Hoenn (LOTS of water plus diving) and Gen 6’s Alola (traveling across different islands).

As with every new generation, there are three new starters. Let’s take a look at each one and all the information the Pokemon Company has revealed so far.
